De jaarlijkse Young VIPs Tournee biedt aan twee jonge getalenteerde jazzmusici de kans om op een flink aantal jazzpodia door heel Nederland op te treden met een band naar keuze. De naam van de tournee komt van de naam van de Vereniging van Improvisatiemuziek Podia, de VIP.
Dit jaar vindt de YVT voor de veertiende keer plaats, en dit jaar werden door de programmacommissie twee heel verschillende tenorsaxofonisten uitgekozen: John Dikeman en Iman Spaargaren. Laatstgenoemde speelt met zijn eigen Iman Spaargaren Quartet, waarin hij terzijde wordt gestaan door Marzio Scholten (gitaar), Cord Heineking (contrabas), en Klaas van Donkersgoed (drums). John Dikeman bracht het trio Cactus Truck mee, met Japer Stadhouders (gitaar) en Onno Govaert (drums); mèt steeds een gast, zoals bij de eerste concerten de Noorse bassist Jon Rune Strøm.

In 2012 the 14th edition of the Young VIPs Tour will take place, the yearly jazztour for extraordinairy talent with outstanding own repertoire which visits the main Dutch jazzvenues. The double bill this year will be executed by two saxophonists with very different repertoire: Iman Spaargaren and John Dikeman.
