Thelonious4 has invited the great American vibraphone player Tony Miceli to do a series of concerts in Europe Thelonious4 featuring Tony Miceli (vibraphone).
“Tony Miceli is a vibraphonist of astonishing virtuosity, musical resilience, and
inventiveness. Miceli is prone to experiment, but his creative impulses are well-considered and rooted in tradition. ” – Vic Schermer, All About Jazz
Miceli's playing has been compared with the legendary Milt Jackson and Gary Burton. He played with musicians like David Liebman and teaches all over the world.
Miceli from Philadelphia is known for his works with his own group Monkadelphia, which deals with Monk's music in an innovative and modern way.
Miceli's approach of Monk's music closely resembles the way Thelonious4 plays the music: open, communicative and looking for new sounds. A strong and convincing concert series is to come!

Jazzquartet Thelonious4 plays compositions of Thelonious Monk in a truly unique way with an interesting, international personnel: Iman Spaargaren from the Netherlands (saxes/clarinets), the Argentinian Guillermo Celano (guitar/effects), German bass player Andreas Metzler (double bass) and also from the Netherlands: Jurjen Bakker (drums).
On december the 11th 2011 Thelonious4 releases its 2nd cd: 'Live at the Hot House'. The recordings were done during a magnificent concert at Hot House in Leiden, Holland.
The energy and musical adventure leave you in astonishment! Monk's compositions are being torn apart, closely examined, and put together in a different fashion again. True swing, soundscapes, burning improvisations and witty interplay.
